WhatsApp is an application of great importance today due to the practicality it offers. However, this year many of the users who use this application have been victims of scams in which their WhatsApp account is hacked and used to ask their contacts for money or simply to steal information, which is why users must protect their WhatsApp account.
In this blog we give whatsapp blasting you some tips to protect your WhatsApp account
What are the ways your WhatsApp can be hacked?
According to experts, most of the WhatsApp account hacks have been caused by a number of reasons, such as:
- “The six-digit scam”:
This happens when users share verification codes that allow them access to their WhatsApp account with strangers. Once they have this code, anyone can steal photos, videos and documents that exist in the application, as well as impersonate them.
- Via voice call:
How? Through Pegasus , an Israeli spy program, it works with a single voice call that carries malware that extracts codes that allow it to directly access the phone from the WhatsApp application.
- Facebook:
When we read the legend “end-to-end encryption” we think that the messages are private and protected, but this is not the case. Facebook can copy information from the WhatsApp application and read the messages we send and receive. YES! Maybe that is why Facebook makes recommendations for things that we do not search for or that we only discuss privately on WhatsApp.
- WhatsApp Web:
The danger occurs when the user uses WhatsApp Web on someone else’s computer, since if the user has chosen to remain logged in, the WhatsApp account will remain linked even when the browser is closed.
