How Coolbue became successful by using… (customer case)
6. Scarcity
The threat of shortage: we attach more value to things that are scarce or hard to obtain. Collectors have known for a long time: the rarer something is, the higher its value. Or take Booking.com, which played on the feeling of scarcity for years with slogans such as ‘only 1 room left’. Scarcity makes people restless. “Gosh, only 1 room left, then”.

There are new guidelines

I so you don’t see this on Booking anymore, but people still know it. Apple also uses this principle by deliberately not having  clean email  enough stock when launching a new product, which creates long lines that fuel the feeling of scarcity.

Another variant of scarcity is limited time. For example, if a product will soon no longer be available or los indicadores del segmento the offer is only valid for a limited time. In advertising, (the suggestion of) scarcity is often used: gone = gone, while stocks last, limited availability, first come, first served… The fact that we are sensitive to scarcity dates back to the time when a shortage of food could be fatal. Something that is scarce suddenly becomes much more valuable.
